Laura brought a huge amount of energy, insight and compassion to the role as a governor. She really cared for the pupils, the staff and the parents - and that caring & awareness of others' situations meant she was typically the first to spot issues that needed addressing. She would advocate clearly and strongly, but also show a great ability to listen and a good balance of judgement. She was quick to step forward when work needed doing, which set a great example and added real momentum to the governing board. She used her deep expertise in HR to ensure we both did the right things operationally, and built out the right processes and structures for the long-term.
